Clärchen Ballhaus is a Dance & live music venue with a vintage mirrored hall, Italian & German cuisine and dance classes.
For a taste of Berlin nightlife of a different era, head to this wonderfully original dance hall located in the middle of Mitte’s smart gallery district. In operation since 1913, this place used to be dance house in the early twentieth century and the original decor still exists. The front of the building looks a bit destroyed because of some bombing that happened in the last days of WW2. Now the same area is a lovely restaurant: a beer garden with tables placed under of big old trees and a great nostalgic vibe.
Service and food are pretty good (pizza or German classics), local white wine and beers are worth trying but it is the atmosphere and the building itself that make it worth a visit.
Dance classes are not yet available for wheelchair users but good part of the beautiful venue is well accessible for us (the garden and downstairs room, the upstairs ballroom not), tables with the right height for knee room, wheelchair-friendly toilet is shared with the ladies, but hey there is one.
If you are looking for a night out, here you have it folks, a very cool experience in Berlin.
